Universal Battery Charger
Description
In places where power failures are frequent, batteries are used to keep the electrical & electronic appliances in operation without any interruption. These batteries in order to deliver their rated output, they have to be maintained at optimum charge to ensure longer battery life.
The Battery charger from Jalsun Devices comes with 12V & 24V voltage options and multiple current output options to choose from. The Battery Charger gives out a maximum power of 200VA. Its capability to support all battery types including the Lithium Ion batteries makes it a universal battery charger
Working Principle
The battery charger accepts AC power supply with a wide range of 170 – 270V AC as input. The battery is charged in BOOST mode when the battery is close to drain position. Any fully charged battery doesn’t stay fully charged all the time, it does discharge over a period of time. It is here, the FLOAT mode kicks in to keep the battery in fully charged position.
It houses a relay switch that identifies and charges the battery i.e. the device gives output only when a battery is connected to the device. A temperature sensor shuts off the system upon overheating to avoid any damage to the system.
Features and Benefits
- Available in two models, horizontal or vertical design to suit customer requirement
- Indicator lights show charging mode, BOOST / FLOAT mode
- Temperature sensor to safeguard system from a faulty battery
- Automatic switch over between BOOST & FLOAT mode
- BOOST mode charges the battery for quick charging
- FLOAT mode maintains battery in optimum charge
- Input Power supply range 170 – 270 V AC

- Battery Charging Stations
- Remote project sites
- Data Servers
- Diesel Generators
- UPS stations
- Fire fighting Equipment
- Industrial Engines
- Farm / Field equipment like tractors

UPS
Description
Jalsun's Solar Power Control Unit is a hybrid UPS solution that ensures an uninterrupted power supply, with very low fluctuations and constant voltage to the load, even if there are variations on the grid. The switching between the sources: Solar, EB AC mains, and the battery are seamless due to the Digital signal processing that monitors and ensures the least change over time.
The high-efficiency adaptive MPPT charging algorithm helps capture maximum solar energy to power the load and charge the battery. Only excess energy is drawn from the grid and battery, thereby reducing the consumption from AC mains.
The Charge controller that is incorporated makes sure that the battery is charged optimally by limiting the charging current, leading to higher safety and longer battery life. The battery is also maintained at full charge by a low trickle current.
The UPS is available over a range of capacities from 800VA to 5KVA, operating over a wide voltage range. It also can support all batteries technologies, be it Lead-acid, NiMh, or Lithium Iron Phosphate. Being an in-house product, the Hybrid Inverter is customizable to most industrial needs. The built-in Graphics LCD is well set to display the Battery and Solar Voltage, Current and faults, or Error messages. Further add-ons help communicate and monitor these parameters via an optional RS485 serial interface or data log and transfer over Ethernet, 4G/ GSM/ GPRS.

Grid Tie Inverter
Description
Jalsun Grid Tie Inverter is an IGBT-based inverter that, using a DSP-based Maximum Power Point Tracking algorithm, converts maximum solar energy continuously at high efficiency into electrical energy. This is directly supplied to the load and grid with no storage. The inverter has an Easy to Read LCD that displays all parameters like solar panel Voltage and Current, any faults or Error messages, etc.
Jalsun's Inverters have some of the best standards and protections in the industry. They are compliant with the latest IEC standards, especially in safety, efficiency, grid connectivity, and the likes. The Anti-islanding capability of our inverter ensures that the inverter gets switched off and doesn't supply to the grid, in case of a grid shutdown. This makes sure that the grid is not accidentally energized during a maintenance shutdown.
Being an in-house product, the inverter can be customized as per customer specifications as an add-on. Options are available for most communication and monitoring needs. The unit comes with an optional RS-485 serial interface that is set as MODBUS RTU slave protocol. Options can also be provided to data log the parameters and transfer over Ethernet, 4G/GSM/GPRS, enabling the system to be remotely monitored.

Transformer Monitoring System
Description
Transformer failures in the power distribution network is a key component. Power shutdowns are caused by failures of these transformers due to various reasons. TMS-409 is a compact solution to monitor the health of the distribution transformers. TMS monitors Oil temperature, transformer casing temperature, ambient temperature along with oil level. The data is collected through individual sensors which are designed to be housed inside the transformer. Any abnormal condition in these key parameters is a warning of impending failure. In case of alarm condition persisting over a period of time, the unit activates a relay to shut down the transformer to protect transformer from failures. The tripping can also be initiated from central monitoring system in case of any disruption in distribution network.
The sensor data and alarm conditions thus collected are emitted through a 485/MODBUS port for external monitoring through optional SMS/GPRS. The unit operates using any one of the 3 phases of AC power supply available in the transformer.
Features
- Monitors casing temperature, Ambient temperature and Oil temperature through RTD sensors
- Monitors Oil level through Level sensor switch.
- Modbus monitoring and control
- Configurable hysteresis timer values.
- Oil level switch and Oil temperature sensors housed adjacent to each other to monitor level and temperature.
- Option to trip transformer in case of disruption in distribution network - from central monitoring system.

LDC Integration
Description
The data collected at a power generation station needs to be sent to the local Load Dispatch Centre on a real time basis. This is transferred through special dedicated communication lines. This is done by taking a leased line from authorized network service providers, through which the monitored parameters are transmitted, through towers, from project location to LDC.
Another option is to send the data via a VSAT. For this a dedicated satellite bandwidth is provided, for transmission of data. Jalsun provides both solutions in a hassle-free complete package, from providing the required infrastructure to obtaining required sanctions and approvals for the same.
For a leased server solution, the data is collected send through an data controller to be send through a transmitter via the leased server line. The structure of the leased server is similar to Mobile network, where the data is transferred from 1 tower to the next. This solution is more cost effective but we need to provide tower facilities to ensure transmission from remote locations where network coverage is limited.
In such cases, where network coverage is limited, we can use a VSAT solution. Here the data is transferred through satellites. At the power plant area, we will have a dish to transmit the data onto the satellite. This is then received at the LDC. Here we need to purchase the band, which will be costly. But when faced with a coverage issue, this will be a better choice.
Parameters transferred to and monitored by LDC are:
- Generated Active power (MW) by plant
- Generated Reactive power (MVAR) by plant
- Current supplied by plant across R, Y and B
- Phase to Phase Voltage across R, Y and B
- Feeder Circuit breaker state
